Sarah Hambidge is a dynamic and accomplished engineer whose career exemplifies a deep commitment to advancing the fields of petroleum and environmental engineering. With over a decade of hands-on experience, Sarah Hambidge has built a reputation as a strategic project manager and innovative field engineer, seamlessly combining technical acumen with project management expertise. She is pursuing a Master’s degree in Project Engineering and Management at Montana Technological University, where she maintains an impressive GPA of 3.83, further illustrating her dedication to academic excellence and professional growth.
Sarah Hambidge’s academic foundation includes a Bachelor of Arts in Petroleum Engineering with a minor in Mathematics from Montana Tech of the University of Montana, where she graduated in 2017. This background equipped her with strong analytical and technical skills, laying the groundwork for a career in which she has tackled complex engineering challenges with a relentless drive for precision and efficiency. Her early interest in science and engineering has evolved into a passion for creating sustainable, innovative solutions in the petroleum industry.
Her professional journey began as a Seasonal Intern at Budinger & Associates, Inc., where Sarah developed her skills in environmental drilling and project management. Here, she excelled in conducting Phase I and II assessments, collaborating closely with Professional Engineers (PEs) on various drilling and excavation projects. Her aptitude and work ethic led to a promotion to Staff Engineer II, where she managed high-stakes projects, such as a $2 million Municipal Federally Funded Water Well Rehabilitation initiative. In this role, Sarah coordinated with multiple subcontractors to ensure the successful delivery of a new well system, electrical installations, and communication systems for a municipal client.
Following this foundational experience, Sarah Hambidge transitioned to Pioneer Wireline Energy as a Field Engineer in Training and CDL Operator. Her role at Pioneer Wireline involved providing wireline services for oil and gas wells, where she performed mechanical services and tackled challenges in cased downhole applications. Sarah’s proactive approach to safety and meticulous attention to detail enabled her to thrive in the demanding oil field environment, regularly logging over 100 hours a week while maintaining a strong sense of teamwork and collaboration.
In January 2023, Sarah Hambidge joined Magnum Services in Williston, ND, as a Field Engineer. In this capacity, she has taken on training responsibilities, leading Supervisor I and II courses and developing customized training materials, including PowerPoints and case studies. Her contributions to Occurrence Investigations have notably improved operational efficiencies, reducing investigation times by 20% through her exceptional technical writing skills. Additionally, she has overseen US Iron Testing for fleet equipment, ensuring compliance and safety while optimizing inventory management processes.
One of Sarah’s notable achievements at Magnum includes her development of a competitive liner blend for North Dakota, meeting industry standards and further establishing her as an industry innovator. Her technical expertise spans multiple areas, including project management, environmental and water well drilling, geotechnical applications, and frac operations. Sarah Hambidge is proficient in cement operations, cased hole wireline work, and geological engineering and has extensive experience with financial spreadsheets, Excel macro coding, SolidWorks 3D modeling, and technical reporting in Microsoft Word. Sarah Hambidge’s wide-ranging skill set and versatility make her a valuable asset to any engineering team.
Sarah holds several certifications that underscore her commitment to safety and excellence, including a Full CDL Class A, Density Embankment Technician (WAQTC), PEC Card, OSHA 12, and Forklift training. Her dedication to maintaining the highest safety standards has consistently contributed to her success in the field.
Outside of work, Sarah finds inspiration in the rugged landscapes of the Pacific Northwest. She enjoys hiking in the mountains, backcountry snowmobiling, and dirt biking. These outdoor adventures rejuvenate her and fuel her engineering mindset, reminding her of the resilience and exploration integral to her personal life and career.
